Get ready for a MONSTER of a post guys, filled with my favorite pieces that are in style and fall-ready! I'm focusing on four style categories for fall, all of which I am obsessed with. The best part about fall style this year is that mixing everything together is on trend! I'll explain at the end, but get adventurous this fall with mixing patterns, textures, colors, and details. It is so in style and fun!

I am just so happy that fall is right around the corner...but still a little irritated that it's getting so warm in the afternoons. Sweater in the  morning, sweatING by the afternoon. And sweaters are my favorite! I am the most comfortable in a big, fluffy sweater and curled up on the couch watching Netflix. Anyone else?

Summer to Fall Jumpsuit

The perfect summer to fall jumpsuit! You'll be on the jumpsuit trend all the way into next spring, read why here!

Something I've learned in the past month: wide leg pants are incredibly flattering. I'll always have my love for skinny jeans as a great basic piece, but when you find a nice wide leg pant or trouser, they become the star of the show. The silhouette from this jumpsuit is beautiful and the actual outfit is so comfortable. They are also incredibly versatile: you can wear sandals for a casual vibe, menswear inspired shoes for a more trendy vibe, and heeled sandals for a fancy vibe. Literally all the vibes.

This particular jumpsuit is unfortunately sold out, but there are so many other options out there for this that I may or may not have added a few other options to my shopping cart! I know, I know, I'm excessive, but once I find a look that works for me, I tend to but it in every color and option. Even while we were in Rome, I ran to Zara to pick up a couple wide leg pants! All of the beautiful Italian women were wearing them AND they looked so darn comfortable!

Shorts & Booties

Hey beautiful people! Is anyone else ready for fall? I know I am! Pumpkin spice lattes, sweaters, all things cozy -- let's go! Unfortunately, the weather isn't on board with my plans yet. It's been hot in California, so I decided to share with you the perfect outfit to wear as it transitions from summer to fall. This look has all of my favorite things...short-shorts, booties, a cardigan...my dream.

I'm currently writing this post from a train as we travel from Rome to Florence. Let me tell you...the heat followed us here! Overall though, the weather has been lovely. A couple hot and humid hours in the afternoons, but the mornings and evenings are perfect. Italians stay up late, so seventy degrees at midnight has been working out well for us.

Pleated Skirts are Made for Twirling

Pleated midi skirt with Vans sneakers

New wardrobe essential alert! This pleated midi skirt is to die for! I was definitely a little wary of a skirt like this...if you believe it, I was worried I would look a little frumpy. After trying it on, I feel anything but! This skirt is SO comfortable and light!

Seriously, my Instagram husband was trying to take these photos and I just kept twirling and jumping around...he had to tell me to keep still...but I seriously just felt so light and carefree in this dress! It's modest and stylish all rolled into one!

We're currently in Italy, and wearing this outfit around town was the BEST. It's adorable, but also super comfortable and light. Perfect for humid days!

Mini Dress and Sneaks

Mini dress and sneakers paired for a perfect summer to fall look that is equal parts girly and equal parts athleisure

Guys, this sweet little mini dress with an athleisure vibe is giving me all the feels! I love a pretty, girly frock mixed with a fun, active vibe, so I set out on a hunt for a dress last week. I found this pretty number at Vici and am obsessed with it. There are only a few sizes left, but I linked some similar options below. You can also sign up for an email update if it comes back in stock through this boutique (isn't that wonderful?)!

It's always fun to find a casual little black dress. It's perfect, because it's flattering like any LBD is, and it doesn't have to be saved for a semi-formal event. This look also kind of makes me think of the nineties, and the outfits in the movie Clueless that I loved so much.

Suntans, Burns, and the Best Sunless Tan

Suntans, Burns, and the Best Sunless Tanners; St. Tropez, Fake Bake, and St. Moriz

I was born and raised in southern California, where short-shorts and bathing suits are almost year-round uniforms. Because of that, I was always searching for a perfect tan. No matter how many times I would lay out in search of a base tan, I would just burn and turn pale again. It was definitely a waste of time AND so bad for me for so many reasons. I even look back and cringe to say I tried a tanning bed a couple times. Thank goodness those days are far behind me!

Have you ever wondered, "Hey, is it really that bad to get a base tan?" Me too. Many people even say it's better for you to get that base tan than not...but I'm here to tell you heck NO! I decided to put this post together after listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Stuff You Should Know, where they covered sunburns, suntans, and sunscreen. I pulled a lot of this information from their podcast and this article from the How Stuff Works website.
