The Only Three Tee Shirts You Need

the most flattering tee shirts to compliment any style and body

I have a million tee shirts...it's like a collection. A tee shirt is just a perfect basic and I never feel like I have enough styles or colors. Most shirts start out in my daily rotation, but gradually move on to my pajama collection as they get older...because there's nothing better than an old soft tee shirt for sleeping. I have a ton of my husband's and Grandpa's old tee shirts I use as night shirts, and my own oldies have been added to the collection. Basically, a tee shirt is always a good investment for me because they get a lot of use.

I'm also the kind of person who buys that basic tee in all possible colors...if I find a fit I like, time to buy out the store in that style. Needless to say, I've tried a TON of different tee shirts. Brands, cuts...you name it, I've tried it, but I've found three tees that I cannot live without. I live in these tees...they're perfect for lounging after work and can be dressed up for cute weekend looks. No one has ever regretted buying a tee shirt, but especially these beautiful basics.

Heat Wave Style

Anyone else struggling with these summer heat waves? Here in California we have had some sweltering weekends...like so hot, just the thought of leaving the house wipes you out. I've had trouble mustering the energy to even venture outside of the safety of my air-conditioned home the past couple of weekends, so I thought I'd share some tips on still feeling put-together when the temperature runs into the triple-digits.

I grew up in the Inland Empire in southern California, where summer days were regularly in the 90's or 100's. I've always been a lover of fall and winter more than summer, but I thought I had a pretty good tolerance for the heat. I moved up to northern California about six years ago, and man - I acclimated to this milder climate quickly. I'm good in a temperature range between 65 and 80 degrees...otherwise I'm miserable (I'm high maintenance that way). If it's supposed to be 90 degrees, I dread the thought of getting ready and going out. Make up? It'll just sweat off. Hair? I'll sweat and it'll stick to my forehead and neck (eww). Clothes? Just ugh. One of my favorite sayings is "Struggle City, population: me," and hot days epitomize that.

Styling an All-White Outfit

Happy Thursday everyone! Hope your week is finishing off nicely! I'm so excited for this weekend and hanging out with old friends...if you want to follow along, follow me on the socials and check my Instagram stories (follow me here). Teaser: I'll be on a boat trying my hand at deep sea fishing, so that will for sure be entertaining...I'm just hoping to not get sea sick! The outfit I'm styling here would be PERFECT for a boat ride (more like a fancy yacht maybe, not a deep-sea fishing boat) and is such a clean, chic summer look. Read on for deets, guys.

Nordstrom Sale...Purchase Round-Up

Guys...I did some DAMAGE at this sale. But it's alright, Sheldon knows I do this every year and I only buy things that I will have for years to come. There were some gems in this sale, and I wanted to share with you guys what I actually purchased (and what I loved and almost purchased)! Did you see my post about my early picks for the sale? Check it out (I've linked all my early picks in that post). I did a mix of online and in-store shopping (I'll discuss that below), so some of the items are still on their way to me (thank you online shopping!). I tried to get as much of my shopping done early because things are selling out. Luckily, Nordstrom made the first couple days of the sale 10x point days because of some site glitches, so I have some notes to look forward to for sure!

So my husband, Sheldon, and I binge watch television shows while we're going to bed. It's a habit I grew up with and it helped me sleep when I lived alone. I know, I know, it's supposed to be the worst thing for getting rest and it can get in the way of a deep sleep, but I just cannot sleep without the television on in the background. I go so far as to turn the television back on in the middle of the night if I wake up and the sleep timer has shut it off. My husband and I typically binge shows on Netflix and Hulu...usually comedy sitcoms that can fade to the background (and we know most of the lines to by this point). Our go-to shows are Friends, Seinfeld, and How I Met Your Mother...we've gone through these series millions of times.
